Hiking into the Dolomites along the Dreamway

The Dreamway

In the summer of 2018 I hiked the Dreamway, a trail starting in Munich and ending in Venice. Along for the hike was my good friend Anthony, whom I met while hiking in Spain two years ago. At times the trail was a proper sufferfest as I suffered two cases of food poisoning. In the end, I hiked some 90 kilometers of gruelling mountain trail while I should have been in bed.

Luckily the trail was not all suffering. Along the way Anthony and I met Elena, Jenny and Alex (in that order). A close friendship quickly developed and we ended up hiking most of the Dreamway together. It was this that for me made the Dreamway stand out from the other trails I have hiked so far; sharing the adventure with my new friends was an amazing experience.

All in all I would recommend the Dreamway to anyone who is interested in long distance hiking. It has a great community, you can sleep in amazing huts and pensions every night and it crosses some of the most beautiful regions in the Alps. You can find all the practical information you need for this hike right here. Still doubting? You can read all about my adventure in my journal linked below!
